But what if you want to bask in the magic of the season outdoors? Luckily, there are many festive Charlotte and Lake Norman events this weekend to enjoy. From festive parades to breathtaking concerts, these areas offer something for everyone during the holidays.
Similar to the many fun summer activities in Lake Norman, there is no shortage of holiday cheer this time of year! Here are our top seven favorite Charlotte and Lake Norman holiday events you won’t want to miss.
Experience the nostalgia and joy of the holidays during this musical extravaganza at the Armour Street Theatre with the ‘Winter Wonderettes by Roger Bean. This four-part harmony show features some of the most beloved holiday songs from the ’50s and ’60s, including “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Run, Rudolph, Run,” and “Winter Wonderland,” and will have the whole family singing along to all the classic hits.
Running December 1-18, 2022, and recurring weekly on Sunday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, be sure to book your tickets early as seating is limited.
Bask in the energetic harmonious vibes and warm up your holiday spirit with a night out at the theater!
Grab your family and friends and join the festive boat parade along Lake Norman. Decorated boats will cruise along the waters, while spectators line up on shore to watch this unique holiday light show. As is tradition, the boats will be lit up with dazzling decorations, and their captains dressed to impress in their best Christmas apparel.
On Saturday, December 17th, 2022, the 4th Annual Lake Norman Lighted Christmas Boat Parade will begin at Blythe Landing at 5:30 pm and can be viewed from many locations along the shore. It will end at Duke Energy Explorium at about 7 pm where there will be food, music and fun activities for the entire family.
The icing on the cake? Unwrapped gifts and toys will be collected by the non-profit organization, Little Smiles and donated to the kids at Levine Children’s Hospital.
So don’t forget to grab a small gift on your way to the parade!
Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and enjoy some seasonal music with the North Mecklenburg Community Chorus. This Lake Norman event will feature traditional holiday favorites such as “ Jingle Bells,” “Home for the Holidays,” and “Silver Bells.”
The North Mecklenburg Community Chorus Presents Holiday Classics will take place at Huntersville United Methodist Church on December 2, 2022, at 7:00 PM
The melodic voices and joyous tunes of the chorus will fill the air, making this a perfect event to take family and friends.
All aboard! Climb aboard the Polar Express and take a magical ride to the North Pole. The little ones will love this train ride experience complete with Christmas carols, hot chocolate reindeer food-making, and a self-portrait snow globe.
Kids can dress in their PJs and enjoy the magic of Christmas, as they sip hot cocoa and snack on treats.
There’s also fun for the adults as well! Parents can enjoy good conversation, mimosas, and small bites at the Grown-Up Area.
The Polar Express train will be departing from Pinspiration Lake Norman on December 20, 2022, running from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Make sure to book your tickets in advance to enjoy this unique holiday experience!
Celebrate Christmas with freedom and grace. On Christmas Eve, December 24th., 2022 at noon, Freedom House Church in Lake Norman is hosting a special Christmas Eve at Freedom House Service.
